GOLS establishes a clear path and procedure on the route from field or farmer level to the certified organic latex product manufacturer. Among other factors, manufacturers that are given approval to produce organic products under the GOLS logo have to follow mandatory social and environmental regulations. This places indirect responsibility for social and environmental issues on the final consumer.
100% NATURAL TALALAY
The process for manufacturing Talalay mattresses is similar to Dunlop mattresses except that Talalay mattresses have been vacuumed sealed and frozen before being heated and cured. The vacuuming and freezing process produces a very consistent foam. The unique design of the larger cell structure within Talalay latex results in superior airflow and ventilation in your mattress. Talalay conforms to your body, providing both superior support and contour that eliminates pressure points caused by most mattresses.
100% NATURAL DUNLOP
The process for manufacturing Dunlop mattresses begins with foaming up latex, pouring it into a mold, curing it at high heat, and washing it of all additives used earlier in the process. The washing produces a product that is entirely latex foam. Although Dunlop is the densest natural latex foam, it is yielding beneath the body and offers both a comfortable and supportive sleep surface that is available in a variety of firmness ranges.

Harvested in Sri Lanka, 100% Natural Latex is collected by tapping the latex rubber tree (known as Hevea Brasilensis) for the raw latex contained inside. The trees can produce latex for up to 25-30 years without harming the tree, after which it gets replaced with a new sapling. This sustainable process makes latex a natural, green source for sleeping exceptionally.

What type of topper should I buy?
What type of topper should I buy if my mattress is soft or sagging?
Normally neither a firm nor extra firm topper will help beyond a negligible degree, even if you purchased a 3” extra firm Dunlop topper. Support must come from the inside of a mattress, not from the topper. Also, latex will conform to whatever surface it is on, so if your mattress is soft or sagging the topper will take on the characteristics of your mattress. Lastly, having a top layer that is not encased with the rest of the mattress will allow that top layer enough spatial freedom to move upwards when you lay on it, making for a very plush and enveloping feel, even if it’s an extra firm layer. About half of the customers that purchase a firm topper to make the mattress firmer end up returning it, that’s the only reason we mention these things. If you want to try it though, an extra firm 3″ Dunlop topper has the best chance of working for you. If you get a 3” extra firm topper and find that it doesn’t work for you, you could either return it within 30 days at the full cost of shipping, or you can use it to build an all-latex mattress by using it as the bottom layer of a do-it-yourself mattress.
What are the ILD’s of our toppers?
For both Talalay and Dunlop, our soft is 19-22 ILD, medium is 30-32 ILD, firm is 37-40 ILD, and extra firm is 44 + ILD.
Do we make custom size toppers?
Yes definitely! We can cut the latex to any dimensions you’d like, although we wouldn’t be able to make a custom cover for it. We normally don’t charge for the custom dimensions, and the price would be the same as whatever the next biggest sized topper is compared to the topper you need. Custom sizes are non-returnable and non-refundable.
Do we have Organic Talalay toppers?
There are only 2 suppliers of Talalay in the entire world and there is no organic Talalay available anywhere on the planet. The Talalay process is more complicated and uses more water and electricity and involves more steps, and Talalay manufacturers simply cannot achieve the organic latex certification’s reduced water and electricity usage requirements. We only offer 100% Natural Talalay.
Do I need a cover for the topper?
That’s completely up to you! Whether or not you add a cover to your topper is just a matter of preference. Although a topper cover can increase the longevity of the latex layer, it’s only a moderate increase.
Do toppers have a warranty?
Yes, our toppers have a 1 year warranty that covers a 1/2” body impression.
How long does the topper need to breathe before use?
The topper is ready to use right out of the box. Due to the fact that latex does not “off-gas” and is a very robust material, there is no “off-gassing” phase and the topper will spring back to its original size and form when unpacked.
