Hidden inside latex is the secret to its adaptability and comfort. The natural and unique cell structure of the material allows latex to be flexible and envelop your body, while still supporting your body. The structure also provides relief for primary pressure points throughout the night.
Dunlop latex provides essential support and often is firmer than Talalay latex. As a newer technology, Talalay latex provides a softer yet more consistent feel. For decades, customers have recognized that combining Dunlop base layers and a Talalay top layer provides the support most people need.
The natural properties of latex layers allow air to flow naturally in the mattress. Latex whisks away moisture and regulates your temperature throughout the night, without trapping heat like traditional mattresses.
Our Select Sleep latex mattress conforms perfectly to your body’s contours and evenly supports the spine to provide optimal orthopedic support. We offer a variety of latex types including the world’s finest latex process – Talalay.
Latex instantly reacts and adjusts to changes in position giving the body maximum comfort and back support. Its unique ability to conform to your body alleviates areas of high pressure that cause you to toss and turn at night. Latex is also hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, dust mite resistant, and breathable due to its open cell construction. Because it breathes to remove body moisture, it keeps you warm in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Latex relieves pressure that causes you to toss and turn at night. The ability of latex to gently support and conform to your body alleviates pressure points and dramatically reduces tossing and turning. The latex mattress itself reduces pressure areas by as much as 90%, thus ensuring a sound and comfortable sleep.
Latex is naturally hypo-allergenic. Its anti-microbial properties inhibit dust mites, mold, and mildew from thriving. Because latex is a product of pin core construction with thousands of tiny air channels that provide natural ventilation, mildew, staphylococcus and other bacteria can’t live in latex foam, making it the perfect choice for allergy sufferers and anyone wanting to breathe fresh, clean air while they sleep.
Studies show that latex is 300% more resistant to dust mites than any other mattress – making SleepEZs latex mattresses particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers.
Independent tests prove our latex is 3 times more resistant to dust mites than ordinary mattresses.
We take as much care in crafting our cover as we do sourcing our latex. Each hand-sewn cover is made of 100% organic cotton that has been quilted to Eco Wool. The 360° zipper makes assembly a breeze and allows you to replace and rearrange layers as needed, as well as remove completely for spot cleaning and airing out. Replacement covers are available.
All of our mattresses come with cotton covers, providing a soft, breathable surface for your comfort. Cotton also provides just enough stretch so that your mattress cover stays taught. Polyester is never used in our covers.
The wool in our organic cotton cover is premium Eco Wool, sourced from the Woolgatherer Carding Mill. Woolgatherer follows wool through every stage from the pastures to the finished product. Woolgatherer staff is meticulous about ensuring their wool supplier flocks are managed in a humane, chemical-free, and environmentally safe manner.
We stand by the quality of the materials that we put in all of our mattresses.
The 100% Natural Dunlop and 100% Natural Talalay Latex used in the Select Sleep Organic mattress is Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified. This certifies that there are no harmful or unwanted chemicals that could affect your health used in our latex.
Eco Wool is made at an antique carding mill and is unique in that it combs wool more thoroughly than most existing mills. This extra combing creates cleaner and fluffier wool batting, resulting in the perfect fill material for natural bedding products.
Carefully open all boxes and find the bundle labeled “Cover”. Carefully undo the plastic wrap with a sharp object and lay bottom cover on bed, ready to receive mattress layers.
Carefully unwrap latex layers, allowing them to fully inflate. Arrange layers within bottom cover according to your firmness preference.
Zip top cover to bottom cover, tucking in the flaps as you work your way around the mattress. Congratulations, you’re done!

Harvested in Sri Lanka, 100% Natural Latex is collected by tapping the latex rubber tree (known as Hevea Brasilensis) for the raw latex contained inside. The trees can produce latex for up to 25-30 years without harming the tree, after which it gets replaced with a new sapling. This sustainable process makes latex a natural, green source for sleeping exceptionally.

The Organic & Natural Latex Mattresses are covered unconditionally in the case of manufacturing defects by our 20-year manufacturer’s guarantee, excluding shipping costs. This warranty includes a full replacement for the first 10 years for any issue that qualifies as a manufacturer’s defect.
We don’t carry any blended latex, so all of our latex is made using 100% natural rubber from an actual rubber tree. The end product finishes at 98% pure rubber, and the remaining 2% of ingredients are things like natural fatty acids, natural soaps, and natural reinforcing agents needed for manufacturing.
The cover in the organic line is organic cotton & wool and the cover in the natural line is natural cotton & wool; the Dunlop in the natural line is 100% natural and the Dunlop in the organic line is organic Dunlop; the Talalay in the organic line is made using only 100% natural latex from an actual rubber tree while the natural line doesn’t have the option for Talalay.
The Organic line’s cover is organic cotton & wool. In regards to the latex, the Organic line’s Dunlop is organic Dunlop and the Talalay is made with only 100 percent natural latex from an actual rubber tree. We have the organic line available for customers that want their mattress to be as “green” and natural as possible. If this doesn’t sound like you, or if you don’t want any Talalay in the mattress, then I would save some money and go with the Natural line. The Natural line’s cover is natural cotton & wool. In regards to the latex, the Natural line’s Dunlop is 100 percent natural and the Natural line also does not have the option for Talalay. The Natural line is for customers who want only Dunlop latex or a bit more of an inexpensive option.
We have the 7″ for customers that prefer a firm mattress or a lower profile. We have the 13″ for customers that weigh over 300 pounds or want a thicker mattress. As such, our 9″ and 10″ mattresses are our most popular. The top layer (which is normally the softest layer) in the 9” is only 2” thick, whereas the top layer in the 10” is 3” thick. As such, the 9″ is a bit more supportive & a bit firmer while the 10″ offers a bit more contour and pressure relief for your hips and shoulders than the 9″.
Please keep in mind that our initial recommendations have a 90% success rate (we only have a 10% layer exchange rate and a 3%-4% return rate) so there’s a 90% chance that the recommendation works perfectly for you. We’ll prescribe Talalay for two or more layers for customers with fibromyalgia, shingles, chronic hip pain, chronic shoulder pain, or anything else where they’re sensitive to pressure, or simply want a bouncy / springier feeling. Outside of that, the initial recommendation should be ideal!
Our mattresses typically ship in 1-2 business days and are delivered to you between 2-5 business days, depending on where you reside. All Cal King sizes, as well as Cal. King and Eastern King mattresses with a non-split Talalay layer will take an additional 1-2 business days to ship.
The cover is removable but not washable. We recommend that you spot-clean the cover with a mild detergent & brush then place the cover in the sun because natural sunlight is excellent at completely disinfecting textiles. The cover is not machine washable because it will shrink. It cannot be dry-cleaned or hand-cleaned in the bathtub, either.
Anything solid and sturdy will work just fine (including adjustable bases). The only types of foundations you want to avoid are slatted foundations where the gaps are more than 3″ apart or box springs (with actual springs in them). Latex foam is a naturally breathable, open celled product and a slatted foundation is not necessary for the mattress to sleep cool. A slatted foundation will enhance the breathability but certainly isn’t necessary because the mattress will breathe on all exposed sides. If you live in a very high humidity area, a slatted foundation will reduce the chances of getting mold on the mattress cover.
We do not add or use any chemical flame retardants whatsoever. Our cotton & wool cover has 1″ of wool that acts as the natural fire barrier, and it is also outstanding at temperature regulation and wicking away moisture.
Talalay is bouncier and springier and is generally better at contour and pressure relief on your hips and shoulders. Dunlop is denser and firmer and is generally better at supporting and maintaining proper spinal alignment, so our most common configuration is Talalay for the top layer and Dunlop for the bottom 2 layers. We will recommend Talalay for two or more layers for customers that have things like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic hip pain, chronic shoulder pain, or anything where they’re sensitive to pressure, or for customers that just prefer a bouncier / springier feel. Outside of those circumstances, a combination of Talalay and Dunlop offers the best chance to be successful for the average person.
About 95% of our mattresses are shipped with all split layers from top to bottom, and we receive no complaints about being able to feel the split or the layers shifting etc. If all of your layers are split, you’ll be able to change your side without impacting your partner’s side, and vice versa, for the duration of the mattress’s 20-year lifespan. Additionally, the mattress will be easier to build, rearrange if necessary, do layer exchanges if necessary, and return if necessary. There are no drawbacks to having all layers split. Of course, this is your mattress, and you are free to order it in whatever way you want with all solid layers, all split layers, or a combination!
The mattress is ready to use right out of the box. Latex doesn’t “off-gas” and is a very resilient material, so there’s no “off-gassing” period and the mattress will spring back to its original size and shape once the mattress is unpacked.
The best way to express it is that our mattresses provide more edge support than memory foam but less edge support than a spring mattress.
